About District Mohmand

District Mohmand is one of the newly merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, formerly part of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). With its headquarters located in Ghalanai, Mohmand is known for its rugged mountains, strong tribal heritage, and a resilient, education-seeking population.

The district comprises eight tehsils: Halimzai, Safi, Khwaizai, Baizai, Ambar, Ekka Ghund, and Prang Ghar. Among these, Safi Tehsil holds the highest population density and a significant number of out-of-school children, making it a top priority for educational reform.
